The University of Negros Occidental–Recoletos (UNO-R) continues to strengthen its global academic presence through participation in the 6th Annual HLU Conference and WURI Global Rankings Ceremony held on May 6–8, 2026, hosted by National Chi Nan University in partnership with World’s Universities with Real Impact (WURI) and the Hanseatic League of Universities for Innovation Foundation. Representing UNO-R at the international conference were University President Rev. Fr. Joel A. Alve, OAR; Vice President for Academics and Research Rev. Fr. Romeo Ben A. Potencio Jr., OAR; Director for Internationalization Dr. Agnes Sequiño; and Director for Quality Assurance Dr. Melona Q. Guitche.

As part of the university’s continuing internationalization efforts, Fr. Alve formally signed bilateral and multilateral Memoranda of Agreement (MOAs) with National Chi Nan University, Taiwan, WURI partner institutions, and Siam University, Bangkok, Thailand, further strengthening UNO-R’s global academic linkages and collaborative opportunities in research, faculty and student mobility, and academic exchange. The conference gathered higher education leaders worldwide to promote innovation-driven education, global benchmarking, and transformative university practices. Through its active participation, UNO-R reaffirmed its commitment to academic excellence and meaningful societal impact guided by its Augustinian mission of Caritas et Scientia.
