De La Salle Lipa scored a win in the 5th WINACTION Widyatama International Competition held last May 28 to 29, 2024. BS Entertainment and Multimedia Computing (EMC) Sophomore Aui Dein Tipan was hailed Champion in the English Speech Contest category held at Widyatama University in Bandung, Indonesia. Competing against contestants from across Indonesia, Ms. Tipan stood out even as she is the sole representative from the Philippines.

In her compelling five-minute speech, Ms. Tipan addressed the West Philippine Sea dispute, a pressing issue facing the country. She urged the audience to collaborate with the Philippines in fostering a just and equitable world. Her eloquence and insight earned her the top prize, including a trophy, a scholarship voucher, and a cash prize. Dr. Roy Dalisay, a faculty member from the Languages and Literature department and Adviser of the Lavoxa Group of Publications, served as her coach and companion.

Another De La Salle Lipa student, BS Legal Management coed Ms. Nina Riavel Deomampo, also showcased her talents by qualifying in the finals for the English Poetry Reading contest, which was conducted virtually.  Ms. Tipan and Ms. Deomampo are members of the Lavoxa Group of Publications, the official College publication, and it was through the said organization that the students were able to join the competition.
