Place at the 2026 LLDIKTI Region XV Kavinya Film Festival
Kupang, Indonesia – Students of the Communication Science Study Program at Widya Mandira Catholic University (UNWIRA), who are part of the Chrono-Comm Collective team, won Second Place (Runner-Up Winner) in the Short Film category at the Kavinya Film Festival organized by the Higher Education Service Institution (LLDIKTI) Region XV in 2026.
The Chrono-Comm Collective team consists of UNWIRA Communication Science students who collaborated throughout the entire film production process, from developing the story concept and filming to the editing stage.
The achievement was earned through a short film entitled One Click, which highlights the reality of social media usage and its impact on society. The film conveys the message that simple actions in the digital world can have significant effects on a person’s life.
Hen, the producer of One Click, said that the story idea emerged from phenomena frequently observed in everyday life, particularly the tendency of people to use social media without considering its consequences.
According to Hen, the production process also involved various challenges, ranging from scheduling production activities to aligning concepts among team members. However, through strong teamwork and effective communication, the entire process was completed successfully.
“This achievement has become an important experience for us in learning how to work as a team despite having different backgrounds and schedules, while remaining committed to completing this film project,” he said.
He emphasized that winning the competition was not the most important outcome, but rather the growth and learning that he and the team experienced throughout the production process.
“Every team member played a significant role in this film,” he added.
The LLDIKTI Region XV Short Film Competition serves as a platform for students to showcase their skills and creativity in the creative industry. At a time when people often press the share button faster than they think, One Click reminds audiences that a single click can carry significant consequences.
The success of Chrono-Comm Collective is expected to inspire other students to continue creating meaningful works and to further develop their potential in the fields of communication and filmmaking.
