In April, 2023, St. Catherine University and St. Catherine Junior College started the new academic year under the new leadership of Mr. Akira Sakahara.
Mr. Sakahara is not, however, a new leader for the faculty and staff of the University and Junior College. He served as the Vice-president from April 2017 to March 2023. He was also instrumental in establishing the Department of Nursing in 2017 and the Graduate School of Nursing in 2022. In addition, Mr. Sakahara was responsible for the external accreditation reviews of the University.
Mr. Sakahara has worked at the junior college for 14 years and at the university for 20 years, including six years as a Dean. The University community welcomes him to his new role.
