On November 22, 2025, St. Paul University Manila held the annual Move It Groove It for a Cause dance competition at the Fleur-de-lis Theater. This year, it was a special P-Pop edition, but it was still a charity-centered dance competition featuring talented dance troupes from different high schools and universities across Metro Manila. This event’s purpose is to raise funds for the chosen charities of the participating groups, highlighting young dancers’ commitment and willingness to use their talents for a meaningful cause.
The event would not have been possible without the major sponsors, MedPoint Manila and Mr. Kerwin George Fortes.
The program began with an Opening Prayer and the singing of the Philippine National Anthem. Then the hosts, Freyja Kapangyarihan and Gab Campos, introduced themselves and engaged the crowd with a lively roll call. The program then continued with the Paulinian Dance Troupe’s opening performance, which energized the audience with its captivating, synchronized movements and set the tone for the competing groups.
This was followed by a brief reading of the criteria and the introduction of the judges. The first judge introduced was Ma. Rhosselle Joseph, also known as “Swaggy,” known for her professional dancing skills and experience in performing and in judging dance competitions. Swaggy has built a notable career as a performer, choreographer, and dance artist. She was a principal dancer for Sarah Geronimo and previously served as a dance artist and assistant choreographer on GMA 7’s All Out Sundays from 2020 to 2023. Additionally, she also performed in numerous concerts, choreographed music videos, and is proud to be a part of the Power Impact Dancers
The next judge introduced was Kenshin Catarining Tabion, also known as “Gandarra.” The hosts highlighted his background in international dance competitions, noting his fierce presence in the Filipino and global dance scene. He is a proud member of Femme MNL and the renowned Power Impact Dancers and has represented the Philippines in multiple world-class competitions. His achievements include placing 1st runner-up in Dance Supremacy 2024 and 2nd runner-up in the Japan world finals 2024 and 2025 and securing the title of Champion at the Dance Supremacy Japan, World Dance 2023. He also performed as a backup dancer for well-known artists, such as Vice Ganda, Maris Racal, and BINI.
The third judge was Mr. Les Paul Sanez, a rising choreographer recognized for his creativity and competitive excellence, known for placing 2nd place in the Choreographers’ Cup in 2025, 2nd in Alpas: the prime Moverz Primera Hija Choreo Competition, and 4th in Choreo Night 2025 in Cagayan de Oro.
Before the first performers took the stage, host Gab Campos said, “They’re not just dancing to win — they’re dancing for their chosen charity, showing that talent becomes even more meaningful when it’s done for a cause.” Following the message, the hosts warmly introduced the first group to take the stage
The first group to perform was The Daluyong Dance Troupe of St. Anthony’s School, which danced to various Pinoy hits, including Touchdown and Chicka-chick-a by YGIG. They also mentioned that it took them only10 days to rehearse their performance.
The next group to perform was CNergy, featuring Caterina and Giuditta Cittadini, who danced to the G22 hit “BANG,” which had the audience cheering throughout.
Next were the Kiddos from Esteban Abada High School. Their clothes, matching their song choice, BLING BLING by Dione, along with their mini stunts, captured the audience. Despite technical difficulties, the Kiddos delivered a spectacular performance.
Next to Esteban Abada was St. Joseph’s School of Quezon City, the Rhythmyx Dance Troupe, who danced to KAIA. After their performance, during the interview with the host, they said they had only two weeks to prepare for the competition. Despite that, they still delivered a spectacular performance.
Following the Rhythmyx Dance Troupe was Nuestra Señora de Guia’s NSDGA Mighty Eagles Dance Company, who performed to songs from the artists, ALAMAT. During their interview with the host, they expressed their gratitude to those who helped them achieve their outstanding performance.
Before the next group performed, the Paulinian Dance Troupe (PDT) took the stage for an intermission, performing to various BINI hit songs. Their lively and colorful clothes paired with their synchronized movements, energized the audience and kept the momentum of the program alive
Next to perform was DPA Blazing Eagles Dance Company of Del Pilar Academy. The movie, Diary ng Panget, inspired their performance, and the crowd started singing along to their song choice, “Paligoy-ligoy” by Nadine Lustre, along with remixes of different hip-hop songs. Their student-themed attire also matched the movie’s vibe perfectly. Before they exited the stage, they performed a short skit, which made the audience cheer and added a twist to their performance.
Next up was Sta. Clara Parish School’s SCPS Dance Troupe, who grooved to songs of VXON. After their performance, their group representative mentioned that they had prepared for over a month for this competition and were thankful they had overcome the challenges they faced during their preparation.
The 8th performer was De La Salle University’s very own Animove Dance Group, who danced to NEW: ID. They shared that it was their first local competition and expressed their gratitude to their coach, who helped them achieve their outstanding performance.
Next was Unknighted Dance Company from Colegio de San Juan de Letran, who performed to 1st.one and introduced a new concept in their number—adding arnis to their unique performance. They expressed their sincerest thanks to their coach, who helped them complete their dance piece.
Last but not least to perform was the defending champions, the Adamson University Dance Company Street, who danced and grooved to BGYO songs.
After the group numbers, a short performance by the candidates for the Best Dancer Award was held, during which one representative from each group was given 30 seconds to showcase his/her best moves. This was followed by a short game, in which audience members played Guess the Silhouette.
Up next was a performance from the judges, Swaggy, Gandara, and Les Paul. This was followed by the Awarding of Certificates of Appreciation to the esteemed judges for sharing their time and expertise.
Following that was the Awarding of Certificates of Participation to the groups who competed and performed. Next was the handing out of Special Awards:
- People’s Choice Award – Daluyong Dance Troupe (St. Anthony School)
- Best Costume – The Kiddos (Esteban Abada High School) & NSDGA Mighty Eagles Dance Company (Nuestra Señora de Guia Academy)
- Best Choreography – Adamson University Dance Company Street
- Best Concept – Adamson University Dance Company Street
- Best Dancer – Yuri Corpuz from Adamson University Dance Company Street
Next up was the most anticipated part of the program: the announcement of winners:
- 2nd Runner Up – The Kiddos (Esteban Abada High School)
- 1st Runner Up – NSDGA Mighty Eagle Dance Company (Nuestra Señora de Guia Academy)
- Champion – Adamson University Dance Company Street
Overall, the competition was not just about winning; it was also about sportsmanship and fellowship among the participants. The contest allowed them to showcase their talents not only in dancing but also in creating concepts and costumes that made their performances truly successful and memorable.
