The International Affairs Office (IAO) of Widya Mandala Surabaya Catholic University (WMSCU) received a grant from the European Union Support to Higher Education in the ASEAN Region (EU-SHARE) in June 2022. The grant was used to support a project implementation under the guidance of the SHARE Peer Multiplier Training (PMT). As part of the plan, IAO held a SHARE 2022 PMT Dissemination activity in August 2022 in the form of international seminar with a topic “Internationalization at Home: Increasing the Level of Readiness at the Program Level”. The international seminar was followed by a peer-group discussion. Attendees were lecturers and educational staff at WMSCU as well as representatives from partner universities.
This international seminar invited Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Ariffin bin Abu Hassan as Associate Director of UTM Global Education & Experience from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia and Condro Wibowo, S.TP., M.Sc., Ph.D., as the Head of Task Force for International Collaboration from Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Indonesia. “We must seize every opportunity for internationalization, be it internationalization on campus or abroad. And it takes a lot of readiness in terms of facilities, curriculum as well as staff because each department plays a role in internationalization,” explained Dr. Ariffin. Both speakers offered powerful information and sharing of their experiences.
