
Assumption University of Thailand (AU)’s two Faculties, The Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics and the Albert Laurence School of Communication Arts collaborated with the Embassy of The Kingdom of Morocco in Thailand in organizing a conference on March 6, 2024 which focused on South-South Cooperation, Economics and Security.
To the backdrop of global tensions in two current wars, global warming, climate change, and disruptions in economic and learning systems, the two featured Conference speakers, H. E. Ambassador Abderrahim Rahhaly and Professor Mohammad Harakat engaged the on-site and online participants with thought-provoking ideas and cases of transnational and global collaborations in areas of business, commerce and economics. Soft Power and the emergence of AI and Generative intelligence systems were projected by both speakers as catalysts of growth and change.
The Conference had positive outcomes in that the two countries, Thailand and Morocco, were cited for their peace initiatives and human capital development projects. Assumption University of Thailand and Mohammed V University of Morocco are exploring collaborations in research on economics and international conferences in the near future.
