[Tagbilaran City, March 1, 2025] – Holy Name University (HNU) – Integrated Basic Education Department (IBED) hosted her annual Family Day, a resounding success that brought together the University community and their families under the theme, “Stronger Families, Safer Children: United in Love, Support, and Protection.”

The day commenced with registration at the Barder Gym Facade, followed by a Thanksgiving Mass officiated by Fr. Ruel F. Lero, SVD, PhD, the HNU President. He was joined by Fr. Roberto M. Ebisa, SVD, the CREam Director, and Br. Mark Paglicawan, SVD, the Vice President for Administration. The PTA IBED Level Officers served as sponsors for the Mass.

Following the Mass, a vibrant program of activities, called “Frolics,” took place. Highlights included spirited performances by the IBED Falcon Academy, the IBED Rondalla, a Zumba-inspired mass dance, and an engaging song presentation by a parent-daughter duo. The event also featured the launching of the CCPPS and exceptional musical performances by IBED Litmus entries, showcasing a cappella and vocal duets.

A fellowship lunch concluded the day’s events, with separate venues for Grade School (Barder Gym), Senior High School (Covered Court), and Junior High School (homeroom classrooms) students.

Mr. Allan Janiola, an IBED-SHS faculty member, and Mrs. Stella Baja, a parent, served as emcees, ensuring the event ran smoothly and was memorable for all attendees. HNU-IBED expresses her gratitude to everyone who participated and contributed to the success of this year’s Family Day. The event fostered a strong sense of community and created lasting positive memories for the entire HNU family.
